Unscented Homemade Body Dusting Powder

Unscented Homemade Body Dusting Powder

DIY Homemade Unscented Body Powder Recipe

Everybody finds themselves in need of a little moisture control from time to time and a simple homemade body dusting powder is the perfect fix.  Whether you’re getting sweaty being all athletic or if it’s just hot out having a good homemade body powder handy can make all the difference between being perfectly comfy or being uncomfortable and clammy.

This homemade body powder is very similar to my homemade deodorant recipe however the ratios are a little different.  Since deodorant has the tougher job of fighting odor it has a lot more baking soda than this recipe does.  Since with this recipe we are fighting moisture we have more absorbent than anything else!

Let’s make our homemade body powder!

Ingredients

Unscented Homemade Body Powder Recipe Ingredients

All you need to make homemade body powder is…

  • Cornstarch, Arrowroot Powder, or other starch
  • Baking Soda

That’s it, now let’s make some body powder.

Step One

Unscented Homemade Body Powder Recipe - Add Cornstarch or Arrowroot Powder

Add Cornstarch

For this homemade body powder recipe we will be adding in 3 parts of our absorbent for each part of odor fighter that we add in.

For a small batch, add in 1 tablespoon cornstarch or other absorbent starch powder.

The cornstarch is what will help with moisture control in the body powder.  Cornstarch is very absorbent and will suck up any perspiration that you may have where you’ve applied the final dusting powder.

Step Two

Add Baking Soda

Now add in 1 part baking soda.  In my case, add in 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Baking soda will help your homemade body powder to also fight minor odors as well.

Step Three

Mix

Then stir your ingredients together.  Don’t worry if it is perfect, nothing bad will happen if you don’t get it mixed up perfectly, I promise.  You can also throw your ingredients into a sealable container and give them a shake if you want, anything works!

Step Four

Use It!

That’s it!  now grab yourself a pinch and apply where needed.  This body powder works great wherever you need to use it.  It works well as a homemade deodorant, however this Homemade Deodorant Powder Recipe is tailored a little better for that particular job.

This body powder also works well for feet and shoes or even in your nether regions.  There’s nothing in the powder that can cause particular harm to those extra sensitive areas.  Where ever you apply this body powder it will get the job done.

How’s It Work?

I think that this homemade body powder works great.  In my experience this body powder works just as well as anything I’ve ever bought from the store so I’m satisfied.  It does the job.  It’s simple, cheap, and fast to make, what more could a guy or gal ask for!
