How To Make Homemade Pet Cleaning Spray

How To Make Homemade Pet Stain & Odor Spray

I have a particularly large need for a good homemade pet cleaning spray as we have two sickly long haired cats. Both of our cats suffer from what multiple vets say is a virus that will never go away.  The result of this is that both cat sneeze mucousy globs all over our house. Combine that with their love of licking and creating the largest hairballs they can possibly make, our need for a good homemade pet stain and odor spray is great and constant.

I got tired of buying expensive natural cleaning spray from the fancy pet store so I decided to make up a bottle of my own homemade pet cleanup spray to see if I could find a replacement that worked just as well without the cost.

How To Make Scented Homemade Deodorant Powder With Essential Oils

I’ve tried a couple homemade deodorant powders here on The Homemade Experiment.  I’ve tried just using Arrowroot Powder as Deodorant which actually works well. I’ve tried a combination of Arrowroot Powder and Baking Soda Deodorant Powder which works really well.

For this recipe I’m taking it one step further and adding in some essential oils.  We’re going beyond works well with this one into the realm of smells good too!

I’m not an essential oil expert, but I do know that depending on what essential oils you add you can get benefits ranging from wonderful scents to anti-microbial effects which can help cut down on the stink!  So depending on what essential oils you use you can make the perfect deodorant powder with this recipe.

Without further ado, here’s how to make homemade deodorant powder with baking soda, arrowroot powder, and essential oils.

Homemade Shoe Deodorizer Sachets

I recently did a post on how to make your own homemade shoe deodorizer powder which works great.  But there are some shoes that I wouldn’t ever want to dump a load of powder into, and I’m sure you probably do too.

So to solve that problem, I came up with my own solution for homemade shoe deodorizers which doesn’t require you to pour powder into you shoes to get those unpleasant smells out.  Instead the end result is a tidy little bundle that works just as well and looks a lot nicer than a pile of powder too, and you can make them in whatever fabric you like.

Homemade Reed Diffuser with Water

Everyone loves their home to smell nice, and making your own homemade essential oil diffuser is a great way to do that without having to spring for more expensive candles or reed diffuser oils to do the job.

One reason I particularly wanted to try making a diffuser using water rather than an oil base was that many people complain about the oil (not the essential oils) in other homemade reed diffusers going rancid after only a day or two.  Personally that’s not something I want to worry about so I decided to just try it with water.

I found a post at ourhomemadehappiness.com who has tried doing the same thing with success, so I figured it was worth a shot.
