Chalkboard Mason Jar Lids

With all of the homemade things I’ve been making lately jars started piling up with various white powders inside ranging from laundry soap, to carpet freshener powder, and deodorant powder.  I wanted to avoid putting laundry soap on my armpits if I could, so I decided I needed a better labelling system.

I’d seen these lids around the internet before, and I thought that they would be the perfect way to get a little more organized, so I decided to make my own.  If you’re into upcycling and old jars, check out my other post how to make mason jar shakers.

Quick DIY Mason Jar Shaker

Here is a great way to make your own diy mason jar shaker, and best of all it costs next to nothing to make.  My grandma gave me a bunch of her old mason jars, and I’ve been trying to find some good uses for them, and this fits the bill.  These homemade shakers are great because you can make them in any size that you want and can be used for anything from spice shakers to homemade carpet freshener.

Making your own shakers is a great alternative to buying a new shaker, especially as an alternative to plastic.  Don’t worry if you don’t have any mason jars laying around you can also use any glass jar with a metal lid.

How To Make Your Vintage Book Prints

I’ve been seeing these book prints around a lot lately.  They’re all over Pinterest and the rest of the internet.  You can even buy them on Etsy from $5 to $15.  Well, I’m a little cheap, and I figured I could probably make my own.  Long story short I figured out how to quickly and easily make my own vintage dictionary art print.
